Retrofitting

Retrofitting homes in Liverpool, Merseyside and Cheshire. If you’re reading this you are likely one of the 29 million homeowners in the UK who could make beneficial changes to the fabric and systems of your property by insulating and upgrading.

This term has become associated recently with the drive to make buildings more energy efficient, comfortable and sustainable. This can help to reduce carbon emissions, make it cheaper to run buildings and overcome poor ventilation and damp problems.

Retrofitting

Since 2008 every property has to have a valid EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) which rates the property from A (very energy efficient and cheaper to run) down to G (not at all energy efficient and expensive to run).

There is a government website where you can check the EPC for your property – domestic or commercial – and find information about how to reduce your carbon emissions and energy performance.

Assessing and upgrading heating, hot water and lighting systems can all improve energy efficiency if carried out correctly and in the recommended order.

As one of our clients said: “Having spoken to several different companies, I’m beginning to see there is a proper way to do retrofitting and a cheaper way which doesn’t work” (Mrs A.B.)

Underfloor Heating

Underfloor heating provides a quiet, comfortable luxurious warmth in rooms that have no radiators. We have recently installed this form of heating over 50 sq.m. of a residential property which is being completely transformed.

Carpet or tiles may be laid on top of the final screed.
