Building & Good Communication

Sep 2023 | Blog

Communication is something that is often overlooked when it comes to selecting a builder to work on your property. There are many important factors to be considered, the financial aspects are usually at the forefront. Closely followed by reliability, quality and reputation of your potential new builder. All these considerations are easily satisfied by conducting thorough checks at the start of the process. At DK Building we are very proud of the work we do. We like to share all our Awards, Accolades, Certifications and Testimonies.  We try to answer as many questions as we can before they are even asked.

We do everything we can to inspire confidence and trust, and nothing inspires confidence more than good Communication. Conversely, lack of communication can cause a great deal of stress and anxiety.

One question we believe that anyone who is considering a builder for their project should ask is ……………. How do we communicate? It is a question we are rarely asked, but communication is one of our Core Values. It is what makes us stand out from the rest.

Personally, Communication has been my ‘Trade’ for most of my working life. More a passion really.

I served for 10 years in the British Army as a Radio Operator in the Royal Corps of Signals. Our cap badge was the Figure of Mercury (messenger to the Gods or God of Communication) and our Corps motto was ‘Certa Cito’ – ‘Swift and Sure’. I quickly learnt how vital Communication was on the Battlefield. Arguably the single most important factor and what makes the British Army amongst the best in the world.

After leaving the Army and moving into the world of construction I quickly learnt that Communication wasn’t very high up on the priorities list for most building firms. It was both disheartening and frustrating. When I had the opportunity to work with Daniel at DK Building, I was genuinely inspired and impressed by how much attention and emphasis was given to Communication. It inspired me as an employee, it gives our team confidence and most importantly it gives our clients reassurance.

We understand how important your project is to you. We understand its value both financially and sentimentally. We treat every home we have the privilege to work on as if its our own, and we want to do everything we can to make the process as painless as possible.

We do this by employing the highest standard of Communication from concept to completion and beyond.

  • We will listen to your needs and do our best to turn your vision into a finished product.
  • We will provide you with clear and concise estimates and specifications with no hidden costs.
  • We will liaise with the local authorities, suppliers and other contractors where necessary and provide a complete Project Management service.
  • We will provide you with detailed timelines and update you on progress periodically and inform you of any changes to the programme at the earliest opportunity.
  • We will openly communicate any delays or unexpected circumstances and provide and discuss solutions.
  • We will respond ‘Swiftly’ when you contact us.

By Phone – If it is not possible to take your call we aim to get back within the hour during working hours.

By Email – We aim to respond by the next working day.

By Text – we find either Text messages or WhatsApp a very good means of communication and generally allows us to respond quickly with either a quick message back or a call.

  • In an Emergency we will respond as quickly as possible in or out of working hours.

We love what we do, we are proud of our work and the standard of the service we provide. We are grateful to our clients for putting their trust in us. We are also very happy when they Communicate that out to other potential clients. Please take a look at our Testimonials page and you will see first hand what makes us different to other builders, alternatively you can get in touch if you require a home renovation, or any other service such as a garage conversion.
